Renewable Energy Systems

Once energy efficiency improvements have been completed that reduce the amount of energy your home consumes, installing renewable energy systems – like solar space heating and cooling, a solar hot water system or geothermal heat pumps – can significantly reduce the cost of the energy you use.

Solar Space Heating and Cooling
Solar energy can heat and cool air for your home. Active solar space-heating systems collect and absorb solar radiation and then transfer and distribute the solar heat. Space cooling and refrigeration can be accomplished using thermally activated cooling systems (TACS) driven by solar energy, which provide year-round utilization of collected solar heat.
Solar Hot Water System

A solar water heating system can cut your annual hot water costs in half, by using sunshine to heat or preheat your water, and is generally designed for use with an electric or gas back-up water heater.
Geothermal Heat Pumps

Geothermal heat pumps are similar to ordinary heat pumps, but use the ground instead of outside air to provide heating, air conditioning and, in most cases, hot water. In using the earth's natural heat, they are among the most efficient and comfortable heating and cooling technologies currently available.
